Saraide and Travelocity.com Team to Bring e-Travel to Wireless Users

Saraide(TM), a leading provider of Internet-based services to wireless devices, has announced it is teaming with Travelocity.com, one of the largest online travel sites, to deliver real-time flight information to users of any wireless device, such as pagers, mobile phones and PDAs.

Wireless carriers offering the new service will enable their users to receive customized travel itinerary updates when tickets are purchased through Travelocity.com. The number of Americans who booked travel online soared by more than 80 percent to 11 million over the last year, according to the 1999 PhoCusWright Travel eCommerce Survey. Wireless e-commerce services, such as Saraide's Travel Service, are contributing to this growth.

Saraide provides wireless carriers worldwide with a rich suite of customized, time-sensitive, location-based information services for the mobile market. Working with Internet content providers, Saraide's current wireless services include travel, e-mail, stock quotes, calendars, contact lists, personal banking, electronic commerce, and much more.

"Wireless carriers offering Saraide's Travel Service via Travelocity.com will have a competitive edge over other carriers as their customers demand time-saving solutions," said Terrell B. Jones, President of Travelocity.com. "This mobilization of our online travel services is a natural extension of our business and our brand. We are excited to be working with Saraide to accomplish this offering."

By updating travel itineraries, the new solution from Saraide and Travelocity.com helps mobile users make the most of their time and budgets. For example, users can easily access flight schedules, real-time arrival and departure times, and gate change information. Saraide's Travel Service continues to help users upon arrival at their destinations, by providing local driving directions, traffic updates, lodging information, translations services, currency exchange rates and wake-up calls.

"Saraide's Travel Services can make travelers much more productive by providing critical real-time information while they're mobile," said Hatim Tyabji, chairman and CEO of Saraide. "Furthermore, this partnership is evidence of Saraide's commitment to adding value to our Internet content providers' brands in the wireless arena."
