Cinemark USA, Inc. Applies Wireless Technology for Access to Movie Showtimes

    Cinemark USA, Inc. announced today that it has become the first movie theatre company in the United States to develop proprietary wireless technology which allows customers to access all Cinemark Theatres' domestic showtimes via Cinemark's new ecommerce and ticketing Web site, enowshowing.com.

    These showtimes can be accessed by all Palm Pilot(TM) devices, including the new Palm VII. The Cinemark-developed technology is a first for any motion picture theatre company and was given a 4-star rating (out of 5) at www.palm.net.

    "This represents another step toward the future of movie showtime and ultimately movie ticket delivery," said Randall L. Hester, Vice President of Marketing & Communications for Cinemark USA. "We are especially excited about the build-in wireless capabilities of the Palm VII. Cinemark is dedicated to being on the forefront of Internet technology that can be used for better customer service and communication. In other words, this is really cool," added Hester.

    Cinemark is one of the world's largest motion picture theatre operators with 257 theatres and 2,736 screens currently operating in the United States, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Columbia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua and Peru.
