GeoComm Acquires Wireless Developer Network

GeoComm International Corporation (GeoComm) has recently acquired the Wireless Developer Network(TM) (www.wirelessdevnet.com), a portal site for wireless software developers. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. GeoComm is also owner and operator of the GeoCommunity(TM) (www.geocomm.com), the portal site for the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) industry.

"The Wireless Developer Network(TM) leverages our knowledge of building successful online communities into the exploding Wireless Web industry," said Thomas Knighten, President and Co-founder of GeoComm. "The synergy between the two online communities of GIS professionals and Wireless Web developers enables faster development of location-based applications and solutions for wireless handheld devices."

Bryan Morgan, Managing Director of Wireless Data Solutions stated: "The Wireless Developer Network(TM) is the premier technology resource for software developers and information technology professionals interested in mobile computing and communications. We believe that every segment of the computing industry will be affected by the coming wireless data boom. This partnership solidifies the Wireless Developer Network(TM) as THE information portal for professionals interested in technologies such as WAP, the Palm Computing Platform (R), Microsoft Windows CE (R), Java, Bluetooth, and wireless data."

"This acquisition combined with other targeted moves in the near future positions us for an IPO once we select the right underwriter to move forward. Stay tuned for another major announcement at the upcoming CTIA Wireless 2000 convention in New Orleans. We intend to move aggressively in this arena to augment our portfolio of Wireless Web online communities in the business-to-business e-commerce sector," Knighten said.
