MID Brings WAP-based Horseracing Information to Mobile Phones

Phone.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:PHCM), a leading provider of software that enables the delivery of Internet-based services to mass-market wireless telephones, today announced that Mobile Information Dynamics (MID) will offer a WAP-(Wireless Application Protocol) based service provided through the Japanese nationwide PDC and PHS network using the Phone.com™ UP.Link™ WAP Gateway. This service allows subscribers of horse racing information to browse through related information at their convenience using WAP-compatible mobile phones equipped with Phone.com's UP.Browser™.

MID, the mobile information service provider financed by ITOCHU Corporation, Matsushita Communication Industrial Co., Ltd., NTT DoCoMo Inc. and others will install and operate the Phone.com UP.Link WAP Gateway and manage the WML content services associated with this service. MID will aggregate a wealth of content relevant to horse racing fans and has set up a variety of online databases related to horse racing in order to provide a full range of services to subscribers. The service is expected to start in April 2000.
