Pixo and Samsung Cooperate to Develop New MMI Platform for Mobile Phones

Pixo's Software Speeds Time to Market for Advanced Wireless Applications and Internet Access

Pixo, Inc.(TM), a developer of innovative software for wireless phones today announced that Samsung Electronics Company Ltd. (OTCBB foreign - SSNGF) has chosen Pixo software for its new line of mobile phones.

With Pixo's graphical user interface, development tool kit, and advanced applications, Samsung's new platform of phones will feature easy-to-use personal information management (PIM) applications and Internet access capabilities.

Pixo makes it possible for Samsung to deliver applications such as an address book, calendar, to-do list, memo pad, graphical world clock, and games in its new mobile phones. These phones will feature Pixo's graphical user interface, giving the phones an inviting, easy-to-use "look and feel" tailored for the small screen displays of wireless phones. Pixo's software also offers multiple language support, allowing Samsung to easily modify phones for wider distribution worldwide.

"Samsung has taken a leadership role in the development of mobile phones for the consumer market," said David St. Charles, Pixo's chief executive officer. "With our platform, Samsung will provide some of the market's most advanced, easy-to-use smart phones."

According to the Yankee Group, Samsung is one of the major providers of digital mobile phones in North America. Samsung currently supplies phones to North American carriers such as Sprint and AirTouch as well as multiple carriers in Europe and Asia.

The agreement with Pixo allows Samsung to make rapid inroads in the fast-growing market for data-enabled wireless phones, a market that International Data Corp. (IDC) predicts will grow to 57 million phones over the next three years. A strong wireless data platform is therefore a strategic component of Samsung's continued success as one of the largest wireless phone manufacturers in the world.

"Working with innovative companies like Pixo, we are able to develop products that change the way people use their phones," said Mr. K.T. Lee, Executive V.P & CEO, for Samsung. "After evaluating a number of enhanced MMI solutions, we determined that Pixo best met our needs for a flexible and capable platform. Not only is the Pixo software platform easy to integrate across our product lines, but the platform can also accommodate different applications and requirements from different vendors, as well as new applications and enhancements over time."

As part of its platform development, Pixo will help integrate applications from third parties including a microbrowser for Internet access, voice recognition for control of phone features, text input technology for convenient data entry and PC synchronization for the exchange of PIM data between devices.
