Proxima Technology Inc, supplier of solutions for service-level measurement, reporting and notification, today announced support for the Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) in alarmmanage, their application alert notification tool.
alarmmanage provides IT organizations with a fail-safe alert notification solution. With alarmmanage, system administrators and operations staff are immediately notified of problems by pager, email and now WAP enabled wireless devices. Users with WAP devices can further investigate and acknowledge problems directly, without the need to login to the system via a traditional systems management console.
"Support of WAP in alarmmanage means that service breaches detected by slamanage, or indeed problems detected by any other management tool, are quickly reported to remote administrators via any WAP enabled mobile phone," said Bernd Hammann, director of R&D for Proxima Technology. "Administrators can then use their WAP device to logon to alarmmanage and obtain more information about the problem. This greatly reduces mean-time-to-fix and frees administrators up from watching Enterprise Consoles all day long."
The WAP enabled version of alarmmanage is currently shipping and available from Proxima Technology and authorized resellers.
