WIRELESS KNOWLEDGE SELECTED AS PREMIER PARTNER IN SPRINT PCS APPLICATION
DEVELOPER'S PROGRAM
Wireless Knowledge LLC, a joint venture company between Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ:
MSFT) and QUALCOMM Inc. (NASDAQ: QCOM), has been selected by Sprint PCS as a
Premier Partner in its recently announced Application Developer's Program.
Recognized for its innovative wireless data solutions, Wireless Knowledge will
assist Sprint PCS customers with the development of Web sites and Web-based
applications that are wirelessly accessible over Sprint PCS' all-digital PCS
network.
With the explosive growth of Internet-ready mobile phones and the increase of
mobile e-commerce, enterprises, dot-coms and independent software vendors can
expand their addressable markets by extending both their web-based and
non-web-based applications to wireless devices.
"Demand for wireless applications is clearly high, and Wireless Knowledge
is uniquely positioned to deliver products and services to drive this
market," said Eric Schultz, chairman and CEO, Wireless Knowledge LLC.
"Using our core technology, tools and services, Wireless Knowledge will
help enable Sprint PCS customers to accelerate their time to market with a
mobile solution."
Wireless Knowledge's Professional Services group leverages the company's core
technologies to work with wireless carriers, enterprise customers and dot-com
companies to extend applications to Internet devices using wireless networks.
The group provides mobile strategy consulting, application development, design,
deployment, training, technical support and maintenance.
"Wireless Knowledge's expertise in wireless application development,
ranging from horizontal business applications to corporate portals to mobile
e-commerce solutions, made them an excellent choice as one of our first Premier
Development Partners," said John Yuzdepski, Sprint PCS vice president of
Product Management and Development.
