The e-commerce partnership will incorporate CSI MobileLink(TM), CASIO Soft's enterprise mobile data collection software and CASIO(R) Pocket PC computers and digital cameras into buyproduce.com's digital marketplace solution. This new technology was recently demonstrated to attendees at United 2000, held in Phoenix, and was received with overwhelming enthusiasm.
CASIO Soft's MobileLink(TM) is a data collection system that enables growers to upload real-time images of fresh harvested produce along with information about the quality of the crop from the field to potential buyers utilizing the buyproduce.com digital marketplace. Buyers, worldwide, will now be able to access up to the minute information, view digital images to actually see the quality and make their purchase decisions over the web.
MobileLink will also assist shippers and receivers with order management and will document discrepancies related to product arrivals. It will streamline the receiving of produce at the warehouse destination and improve accuracy and efficiency in inventory applications. Inventories can be instantly updated by using the device's laser scanner to read pallet bar codes. Produce under consideration for rejection can be recorded visually with the digital camera and transmitted immediately to the supplier for further evaluation and reconciliation.
