CellPoint and Tele2 Pioneer WAP Positioning Services in Association with Nokia

CellPoint (NASD: CLPT; www.cellpt.com) has launched a pioneering WAP positioning service today in the Tele2 (Nasdaq: NECS) network in Sweden in association with Nokia (NYSE: NOK; www.nokia.com). "The mobile user can now access T2 Position over WAP, something that improves the services even more," says Camilla Bulow of Tele2. T2 Position is used to manage resources more effectively, keeping track of personnel and assets in service organizations, courier companies, security companies, etc.

"Nokia is happy to be the first company that can offer a WAP-compatible mobile phone for this location-based service," said Johan Sjoquist, Business Development Manager, Nokia Mobile Phones, Scandinavia. "All of CellPoint's location services will be available over WAP and will work with the Nokia 7110, Nokia 6210, Nokia 6250, Nokia 9110i and any other WAP compliant phone," said Hadar Cars, President of CellPoint Systems.

T2 Position, a commercial service offering, allows companies to find where their mobile resources are using an unmodified GSM network and the CellPoint System. "Now, with the Nokia 7110, our T2 Position services can be viewed and used from mobile WAP phones in addition to the fixed Internet interface we already offer today," said Bulow. "This gives our customers maximum flexibility to manage and assign their mobile resources - whether they are in the office or out on the road themselves."

Tele2Mobil Position is a commercial location-based service that enables transport, security, service and sales organizations to be more efficient and to increase customer satisfaction by routing their vehicles and mobile personnel more effectively. The CellPoint technology enables Tele2 to offer location-based services using their existing network. "By not having to make any major investments, we can offer this service at a low cost," said Lars-Johan Jarnheimer, President of Tele2. CellPoint's world first commercial location services can be implemented with no modifications to the cellular network and work with standard GSM phones and WAP phones
