Centralia, Washington Police Department Goes Wireless

Electronic Systems Technology, Inc. (EST)(OTCBB:ELST), a manufacturer of wireless communications hardware, today announced the installation of the ESTeem Mobile Data Computer (MDC) system for Centralia, Washington's Police Department.

The ESTeem will serve thirty law enforcement vehicles providing an affordable mobile data network allowing real-time wireless access to their local and state databases.

The ESTeem MDC system provides agencies an alternative to proprietary data networks such as CDPD, where agencies incur monthly service fees. The ESTeem MDC system allows agencies to establish a private Radio Area Network (RAN), free of monthly service fees, transmitting data at 19,200 bps, utilizing the 450 to 470 MHz UHF business radio spectrum.

The foundation of the ESTeem MDC system is the ESTeem Model 192 wireless modem. The ESTeem Model 192 boasts a radio frequency (RF) data rate twice as fast as current technology, while adding a wireless infrared programming port for ease of diagnostics and maintenance. The Model 192 has over 100 software programmable features and over 1,920 software selectable channels. The narrow band, packet burst transceiver allows networking of 253 devices on a single frequency using the industry standard RS-232, RS-422, or RS-485 asynchronous, full duplex interfaces. The Model 192's internal digi-repeating capability allows routing of data through a maximum of three Model 192s to extend the typical line-of-site range of 15 miles to approximately 60 miles.
