Data Broadcasting Launches a WAP-Enabled Financial Portal -- A Wireless Internet Solution for Traders

Furthering its efforts to provide traders with the most advanced technology and financial information available, Data Broadcasting Corp. (Nasdaq:DBCC) today announced it has launched a wireless financial portal, which is accessible to all WAP (Wireless Application Protocol)-enabled cell phones, pagers and Palm (Nasdaq:PALM) devices worldwide.

This new service will allow traders and investors to receive portable real-time market indices, market quotes from the NYSE, Nasdaq and AMEX exchanges, breaking news, gainers and losers data, and fundamental data, including 52-week highs and lows.

"DBC has been a pioneer in the delivery of wireless quotes," said Chuck Thompson, senior vice president and managing director of DBC. "We initially offered wireless, streaming real-time quotes to users through portable QuoTrek, which today represents a $8 million business.

"We've been operating quote servers for Phone.com for over four years, and now offer mobile users this new wireless Internet standard, making this information available anywhere, any time and on any device."

Utilizing Phone.com's (Nasdaq:PHCM) embedded mini-browser in a wireless phone, pager or Palm device allows the user to access eSignal's WAP-enabled financial portal
