DEMCOM launches password manager for WAP mobile phones

The Frankfurt based software company DEMCOM launched its PIN manager for WEB and WAP, pins.steganos.com, today.

In the last years users of PCs and ATMs had to keep more and more passwords and PINs in their heads. Security software developers reacted to that development by creating software that manages passwords on desktop PCs. The WAP technology (wireless application protocol) makes it possible to manage passwords while being on the way. The user just needs a WAP phone as for example the Nokia 7110 Media Phone. Product manager Fabian Hansmann explained: "The new mobile phone generation makes it possible to access your passwords when you need them. What's the use of a password management tool at home when you need the PIN of your bank card when you're away?" Starting today you can access the Internet address http://pins.steganos.com with WAP-enabled mobile phones and regular web browsers from everywhere on the planet to store and access passwords and PINs. Usage of this service is free and the user can stay completely anonymous. The data is encrypted before it is stored (Blowfish 128 Bit algorithm). Only by entering the personal main password the user can access his PINs. Highest security is obvious for DEMCOM. As a manufacturer of security software we have years of experience in handling the private data of our customers: The award-winning Windows software Steganos II Security Suite already consists of a password management tool since June 1999.
