ENGO.com Auctions Unveils Palm VII And Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) Interfaces

ENGO.com, the innovator in mobile-connected Internet auctions, storms the Internet auction marketplace with mobile device support.

Today ENGO unveiled a revolutionary new extension of its innovative web auction site that provides a full range of auction services to users of mobile devices. Using technology that creates different "skins" for various Internet-ready mobile devices, ENGO can quickly integrate with virtually any new protocol and device as it enters the marketplace, all without modifying its core auction systems. Building on its "skin" interface technology, ENGO also announces full support for the Palm VII wireless device, offering Palm VII users remarkable speed and usability, and WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) devices such as cellular phones and pagers.

"Our passion at ENGO is bringing e-commerce to everyone, especially mobile users," said Jarrod Staffen, CEO of ENGO.com. "Mobile users have the potential to be the most empowered consumers of all, making purchases on the fly. ENGO is proud to be making this a reality for the mobile world."

Immediately available from ENGO are skins supporting the following device types: WAP, PALM, and Narrow Display HTML in three flavors: color, black and white, and text-only. WAP pages can be viewed in WAP compliant devices such as the Nokia 7110, 6210, 6250, and 9110i. Narrow display HTML can be viewed on Internet pagers like the Rim Inter@ctive 950, or any Microsoft CE device running Pocket Explorer. "The day is fast approaching when nearly everyone will have a mobile device of one kind or another in their back pocket," said Staffen. "Wireless Application Protocol, the de facto specification for many of these systems, will make mobile devices the ultimate point of sale- possibly even overtaking the web browser as the payment interface of choice." ENGO continues to innovate the web auction market with future support already in place for the new Palm color devices. As Palm color mobile devices are introduced, ENGO interfaces will already be available.
