FortuneCity Launches "Wapdrive"; First Internet Based Wap Enabled Sitebuilder

FortuneCity.com, Inc. (Neuer Markt:FCT.), (www.fortunecity.com), a leading Internet media company and network of Internet personal publishing, content and entertainment sites, today announced the launch of its new WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) service called "Wapdrive" (www.wapdrive.net).

The core feature of this service is the Company's proprietary WAP site builder. This service allows any Internet User or person with access to the Internet (including FortuneCity's 5 million members) to create WAP pages that are easily accessible from any WAP-enabled mobile phone globally. FortuneCity intends to leverage its market-leading expertise in WAP technology by developing services for other mobile platforms and standards as these become available. Initial reaction from European mobile partners has been very positive and FortuneCity expects to sign some major deals shortly.

The `WAP site builder' is an extremely easy-to-use Internet application that stores the user's WAP site on FortuneCity servers and can be reached by a worldwide audience via WAP phones. It allows users, without any programming knowledge, to produce an online WAP page that they can use to store all types of information and data. The WAP pages can be updated in real time via the Internet.

This service will greatly facilitate the use of WAP phones. It simplifies data entry, since data can be entered via the phone or the computer. Data can also be accessed by either mode. Because of this, mobile users will have greater access to information on a real time basis.

In addition, FortuneCity is set to extend its WAP service to a range of applications that will allow users to access content from WAP phones. The Company will soon announce a broad portfolio of applications that will be accessible to a fast growing mobile Internet audience. The first applications to be launched include an address book and a scheduler that are accessible both from a PC and from a WAP phone, allowing users to manage their lives while on the move.

Peter Macnee, President and CEO of FortuneCity commented, "The Wapdrive initiative catapults FortuneCity into the next generation of Internet services by allowing users to access content and interact using a range of different platforms. It lays the foundation for the Company's continued impressive growth in Europe and opens up potential new revenue streams for us. Back in 1997, FortuneCity started as a leader by being the first community to offer its members 20MB of free space and this Wapdrive initiative continues a tradition of innovation and guarantees FortuneCity a leading position in the new mobile Internet arena."

Dan Metcalfe, co-founder and Vice-Chairman of FortuneCity explained, "Wapdrive is a fundamental part of FortuneCity's strategy. Together with the WAP version of the music trading game "www.Popex.com" and the WAP redirect service provide by www.V3.com V3, Wapdrive is at the core of FortuneCity's WAP initiative. With this launch we aim to serve our members and Internet users generally better by bringing them the ability to access content and interact while on the move."
