fusionOne, Nokia, AdForce, and SF Interactive Join Forces to Explore Delivery of Targeted Advertising to Mobile Devices

Alliance to Research New Technologies and Creative Strategies for Delivering Targeted Advertising to Users of the fusionOne Sync Service via Mobile Devices

fusionOne (www.fusionOne.com), a pioneer in the development of next-generation Internet synchronization technology, together with Nokia, AdForce, Inc., a majority-owned operating company of CMGI, Inc. and a leading provider of ad management and delivery systems, and SF Interactive, a leading e-marketing services agency, today announced a collective intention to explore and develop strategies and creative approaches for the delivery of advertising on wireless devices such as smartphones and PDAs, to fusionOne subscribers.

The companies intend to share the learning and technologies they develop with their wide range of partners, including wireless carriers and portals, to pilot the first cross-platform (PC desktop/internet/wireless device) integrated ad campaigns. All advertising will be invited by the user through fusionOne's highly targeted, profile driven opt-in advertising program.

The free, ad-supported fusionOne service enables users to keep all their information - contacts, calendar, email, bookmarks and files - in sync across all devices, both wireless and otherwise. Through the ad-supported free service, users will be able to sync new contacts and calendar appointments directly to their mobile phones and PDAs from anywhere.

"fusionOne offers marketers a unique opportunity to deliver integrated campaigns to consumers across a wide variety of communications and computing devices," said Don Albert, senior vice president of marketing and sales for fusionOne. "Because our service is 100 percent registered, we capture certain pertinent demographic information about our users, and are therefore able to provide advertising that is not only highly targeted, but useful to the consumer. We are confident that by teaming with Nokia, SF Interactive and AdForce, we will be at the forefront of creating a new advertising medium."

"We are delighted to be joining SF Interactive and AdForce, leaders in their respective fields, in helping fusionOne develop potential solutions for our respective partners in this emerging medium," said Rich Geruson, senior vice president, USA sales and marketing at Nokia Mobile Phones. "fusionOne has built breakthrough technology for the exchange of information among devices, including mobile phones, that is extremely valuable in the m-commerce (mobile commerce) space."

"AdForce looks forward to working with fusionOne and SF Interactive to leverage our advanced ad serving technology to allow marketers to reach their target audiences with messaging that is not only targeted, but time- and location-sensitive," said Tim DePriest, director of strategic marketing for AdForce.

Keeping user preference in mind at all times, AdForce, SF Interactive and fusionOne will collaborate to ensure that users of the free service are delivered ads that meet two critical criteria: practical utility and technical suitability.

"At SF Interactive, we are continually exploring new ways to build relationships with consumers and business users through interactive devices such as Palms and mobile phones," said Bruce Carlisle, president and CEO of SF Interactive. "Combining our expertise in e-marketing with the ad serving experience of AdForce and the content delivery platform of fusionOne, will ensure that users receive highly relevant information that has been custom-built for their preferences and for their device."
