Jacada Ltd. (NASDAQ: JCDA) today announced Jacada(R) for Palm, the first in a suite of solutions enabling wireless devices to quickly and easily integrate with existing legacy applications. Jacada provides a complete software infrastructure to rapidly transform business critical systems into e-business and wireless solutions and to empower enterprise developers to build Internet applications.
Jacada for Palm is designed to meet the requirements of wireless Palm devices such as the Palm VII(TM). It is targeted at corporations and business users, enabling remote users to easily access mainframe-based corporate data. For example, mobile sales executives can check order status or inventory, service personnel can update service requests and warranty data, and insurance agents can provide immediate price quotes and claim information.
Jacada for Palm is the latest in a successful line of graphical thin-client generation solutions from Jacada which include Jacada(R) for Java and Jacada(R) for HTML. Jacada for Palm is part of the Jacada(R) Wireless suite of solutions which leverages Jacada's Wireless Presentation Server(TM) to bridge the gap between mobile employees, partners, customers and core enterprise applications.
According to International Data Corp. (IDC), annual sales in the "handheld companion" market will more than triple from 5.4 million units worldwide in 1999 to 18.9 million units in 2003. IDC also cites that Palm Computing maintains over 70 percent market share worldwide, and over 79 percent market share in the United States, in the "Palm-size" market.

Using Jacada for Palm, any mainframe or AS/400 application can be delivered to a Palm device providing mobile users controlled access to valuable business applications and data. The Jacada for Palm Software Development Kit (SDK) automatically produces a Palm-specific interface that is dynamically linked to the existing business application. This allows organizations to rapidly leverage existing business logic and data without requiring modifications to, or any special knowledge of, existing application code or data structures.
Jacada for Palm is based on the same robust e-business infrastructure software that is in use today by major corporations such as Caterpillar, Porsche, Enterprise Rent-a-Car and AIG.
The Jacada for Palm SDK starts at $5,000. The deployment license is priced by user, pricing varies depending on number of users.
