NeoMedia Technologies Announces PaperClick ToGo for Palm OS

Market for Hand-Held Devices Expected to Approach 12 Million by 2003

NeoMedia Technologies, Inc., (Nasdaq:NEOM), a leader in print-to-Internet technology, today announced the availability of a beta version of PaperClick ToGo(TM) for Palm OS(TM), extending the PaperClick(TM) service to include WAP-based cellular phones and other Palm(TM) OS devices.

Over the last three months, NeoMedia has introduced PaperClick and PaperClick ToGo technologies. PaperClick is a service that hyperlinks printed material or UPC codes directly to specific Web content. By entering a few digits, typing a short PaperClick code, or scanning a bar code, users connect directly to Web-related information. PaperClick provides seamless extension of story scope to interactive content, synchronously delivering display ads, classified ads, directories, and direct marketing material.

PaperClick ToGo for Palm OS is a feature-rich easy-to-use interface for storing PaperClick codes which map to URL addresses when away from the PC. The freeware application allows users of Palm OS devices to jot down simple URL aliases called PaperClick codes and synchronize them to the latest version of the PaperClick PC Software(TM).

The PaperClick ToGo for Palm OS works with Palm Computing Palm III(TM) and V(TM), Symbol Technologies SPT 1500(TM) and SPT 1700(TM) Palm OS devices with integrated scanners, and the Qualcomm pdQ(TM) 1900 digital smartphone. The Qualcomm pdQ 1900 extends the functionality of the PaperClick ToGo for Palm OS by actually retrieving content through cellular Internet connectivity.

"This is a win-win situation for marketers trying to reach the more than five million Palm OS device users," said Chas Fritz, Chairman and CEO of NeoMedia Technologies, Inc. "Marketers trying to reach Palm OS device users can annotate print ads or articles with a PaperClick code as an ideal method of increasing reader response. Palm OS device users can use this application to reduce time entering URLs on the Palm and then having to locate them from a PC."
