Rangestar and Zucotto Forge Partnership to Offer Bluetooth Solutions for Wireless Applications

     RangeStar, as a new Bluetooth SIG member, is partnering with Zucotto to jump start mobile device manufacturers in providing world-class RF solutions and wireless semiconductor software RangeStar Wireless, Inc. and Zucotto Systems today announced an agreement to offer RangeStar's Total Bluetooth Solution that significantly improves time-to-market. Under this agreement, RangeStar will combine their embedded antenna technology and value-added Bluetooth services with Zucotto's Xpresso(TM), Java(TM) processor based on Sun Microsystem's Java 2 MicroEdition (J2ME) KVM(TM) technology. This partnership offers companies who are racing to gain marketshare in the wireless industry the ability to reduce development time, lower cost and launch revenue gaining 3G applications and services into today's 2G infrastructure.

RangeStar also announced their involvement in the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG). Zucotto is also an SIG member (www.bluetooth.com), which includes, Nokia, Ericsson, IBM and Toshiba along with more than 1600 companies worldwide.

Devices that incorporate Zucotto's Xpresso semiconductors deliver 20 to 40 times the performance, with less power consumption than comparable devices running on virtual machines, making it ideal for wireless internet and multimedia devices. Xpresso offers an enhanced implementation of Sun Microsystem's Java 2 (J2ME) KVM environment. The company has already filed multiple patents on elements of their cutting-edge solutions.

RangeStar is forming alliances with SIG members to offer RangeStar's Total Bluetooth Solution. RangeStar and their partners in the wireless industry, are merging all aspects of Bluetooth adoption -antenna design, integration, software development, radio module design, testing and production - to offer a complete solution.

RangeStar's Total Bluetooth Solution and Bluetooth enabled embedded antennas are commercially available to cellular/PCS handset, cordless telephone, wireless LAN and GPS manufacturers. Third-party vendors interested in any of RangeStar's embedded antennas should contact RangeStar directly.
