Teletouch Signs Multi-Year Agreement With WebLink Wireless for Advanced Messaging Services

Teletouch Communications, Inc. (AMEX:TLL) today announced that it signed an agreement to market two-way wireless data services through WebLink Wireless Inc's (Nasdaq:WLNK) nationwide network. The five-year agreement provides Teletouch with a broad suite of advanced messaging services to market to its customers.

"The WebLink Wireless agreement accelerates our plans to offer Internet-based messaging and content services through Teletouch's 60 retail outlets," stated J. Richard Carlson, president and chief executive officer of Teletouch Communications, Inc. "This agreement follows Teletouch's recent purchases of 32 licenses in the 900 MHz spectrum that will provide significant paging capacity for all of our current markets on a common frequency. We believe the addition of new WebLink Wireless services, including Internet-based messaging and two-way wireless data, will be very attractive to our base of over 400,000 paging customers.

"Weblink Wireless has an extensive network that has become the industryleader for wireless Internet messaging. They have also been very successful in adding content providers, device makers and service providers that have embraced their vision of advanced messaging.

"We believe advanced messaging services will prove to be the most cost effective means of delivering information from the Web to subscribers. Messaging networks cover huge parts of the country and use common standards, unlike cellular and PCS networks that have incompatible communications protocols, software and frequencies. We are excited about establishing this long-term partnership with an industry leader," concluded Mr. Carlson.

"Teletouch has been a tremendous partner of ours for the last two years, and our new strategic alliance with them to use our wireless data network shows the confidence they have developed in WebLink Wireless as the carriers' carrier," said John D. Beletic, chairman and CEO of WebLink Wireless. "And with our network - the largest terrestrial-based two-way wireless data network of its kind - now available to them, more consumers will soon be enjoying the benefits of wireless e-mail, wireless instant messaging, and information on demand to request Internet content."
