ThinAirApps Offers First Free Universal Access to E-mail For Cell Phone Users

ThinAir Apollo Makes Personal E-mail Directly Available From Internet-Enabled Wireless Phones, for Free

ThinAirApps LLC today announced the availability of ThinAir Apollo, a new service that for the first time gives smart phone users mobile access to their personal e-mail accounts with support for the widest variety of e-mail services.

ThinAir Apollo allows anyone using an Internet ready cell phone to access their e-mail from any ISP-provided POP account, Web-based mail services including Yahoo!(TM) Mail and HotMail(TM), and open IMAP mail servers. ThinAir Apollo supports both Wireless Access Protocol (WAP)-enabled or Handheld Device Markup Language (HDML) phones. Previous solutions have either forced people to use a new e-mail address created by the network provider or have been limited in the types of mail services accessible. Now, almost anyone can read and write e-mail from their real e-mail address, eliminating the inconvenience of forwarding e-mail from one inbox to another.

"This is a dream come true for many cellular users who have come to depend on their e-mail for everyday communication," said Jon Oakes, co-founder, ThinAirApps. "Thin Air Apollo makes it easy to for people to stay connected whenever and wherever they want."

ThinAir Apollo offers free, direct access to any personal e-mail account. Enterprises, network providers, and application service providers may license the company's ThinAir Server platform with support for industry standard SSL security, greater feature functionality, real time access to calendaring and other groupware system features, plus native support for Microsoft Exchange Server(TM) and Lotus Domino(TM).
