(NASDAQ: ADBL) and Casio, Inc. today announced that CASSIOPEIA Pocket PCs are shipping with Microsoft (R) eBook Reader software that can play the more than 20,000 hours of premium spoken word audio available for download at www.audible.com. Audible is the leading provider of Internet-delivered spoken audio for PC-based listening or mobile playback on AudibleReady(tm) portable digital audio players.
The AudibleReady(tm) Casio CASSIOPEIA Pocket PC acts as a go-anywhere digital audio player that easily stores six hours of Audible's spoken audio on internal RAM and many more hours may be stored on a CompactFlash(tm) memory card. For convenient on-the-go listening, users can download audio titles on-demand, or automatically with periodic or daily subscriptions, and listen to quality programming including the newly launched weekly series RobinWilliams @ audible.com(tm).
Audible.com(tm) also features daily selected audio content from The Wall Street Journal and daily digests of The New York Times, San Jose Mercury News, Los Angeles Times, as well as The Economist Audio Digest, The Industry Standard, Forbes and Harvard Business Review. The site also offers a powerful collection of audiobook best sellers and classics by authors such as Stephen King, John Grisham, Frank McCourt, Jon Krakauer, Scott Adams, Mary Higgins Clark, James Redfield, James Patterson, William Shakespeare, Emily Dickinson and Jane Austen. There are also speeches, lectures, language lessons, and on-demand radio programs including Marketplace, Car Talk, Fresh Air and Science Friday.
