Cambridge Positioning Systems (CPS), developer of the CURSOR(tm) mobile location system and SignalSoft, the platform and applications developer of Wireless Location Services(R) have signed a joint marketing agreement to promote mobile location solutions to the GSM industry.
The alliance calls for both companies to promote each other's services, and the benefits of Mobile Location Services (MLS) in general.
By working together, the two companies plan to make it easy for network operators to deploy location services by integrating CPS' high-precision location technology with SignalSoft's network-based platform and applications. The resulting benefit to mobile network operators is that they will be jointly approached by CPS and SignalSoft offering comprehensive location technologies from Cell ID to CPS' 50m accuracy CURSOR solution. By allowing mobile network operators to identify their customers' locations, it becomes possible to offer subscribers new sets of services that help increase operator revenue and build customer loyalty.
At the same time as this marketing alliance, SignalSoft also becomes the latest company to join CPS' Business Partner Programme. This global Programme provides mobile network operators with access to a wide range of location-based services based on high accuracy, such as vehicle breakdown recovery, information services and a host of applications which improve efficiencies and productivity for businesses.
SignalSoft currently offers several applications for the GSM and IS-41 marketplaces, including products for location-based information and e-commerce, location-based tariffing and a product that meets the requirements for the U.S. Federal safety mandates and European 112 systems.
