Everypath, Inc., a leading enabler of the wireless Internet revolution, today announced it will work with Intel Online Services, Inc., to help enable the hosting of wireless Web content on a worldwide basis. Everypath, a wireless application service provider offering real-time access to Web sites from a wide variety of small format and wireless devices including Palm PDAs, Smart web-enabled cellular phones and ordinary voice telephones, will use Intel Online Services as a preferred Web hosting provider. In addition, Intel Online Services and Everypath agreed to pursue joint marketing and sales opportunities, including mobilizing and hosting the wireless websites for existing Intel Online Services customers.
Everypath's core technology helps make content and applications from any existing Web site available on new small format and wireless Web-enabled mobile devices. Everypath acts as an ASP, helping to make it fast and painless for corporations and .coms to join the fastest-growing new Internet market segment, the wireless web.
No programming is necessary -- Everypath, acting as an ASP, uses innovative technology to render the customer's Web site for mobile devices and then will host it for the customer at Intel Online Services' state-of-the-art hosting facilities. All maintenance of the mobile device technology is handled by Everypath. The security and integrity of the confidential data such as credit card information is maintained because no persistent data is stored on the server. Even if the original Web site changes, these changes can be automatically reflected on the mobile version. This can dramatically reduce the time, cost and resources needed to mobilize a website and keep it updated. The service is available for a monthly fee that includes hosting by Intel Online Services.
An increasing number of users want to access the Internet using mobile devices. Yankee Group estimates that the mobile Web services market will be $100 billion by the year 2007.
"We're very pleased to be selected as a preferred hosting environment by an innovative wireless ASP like Everypath," said Mike Aymar, President of Intel Online Services. "Their service can help enable a multitude of devices to access Web sites that are hosted in our Internet data centers. The combination of Intel Online Services' hosting facilities and Everypath's wireless ASP service, we believe, will help take the complexity out of wireless access for many customers."
"Intel Online Services is moving aggressively to position itself as a leading hosting provider. Their innovative and reliable approach to hosting and well recognized brand name makes them a good fit for hosting our mobilized customers," commented Everypath CEO, Venktesh Shukla. "Everypath has developed leadership technology to make the wireless Internet a reality today. Combining Everypath's Web mobilization technology with Intel Online Services' growing presence in the hosting segment will help provide mobile Web solutions for an increasing number of people. Everypath intends to be the leading wireless application service provider in this new emerging market segment."
