Puma Technology to Support Windows-powered Pocket PCs

Intellisync Software To Provide Advanced Synchronization To Users Of Next Generation Mobile Devices

Puma Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ:PUMA), the leading provider of the essential software infrastructure for the ubiquitous mobile Internet, announced that it will extend its line of Intellisync advanced synchronization solutions to support Windows-powered Pocket PCs. Puma's Intellisync(R) software will provide users of Pocket PCs with complete synchronization support of e-mail, calendar, contact and task data for Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Exchange and other popular PC-based PIMs.

Windows-powered Pocket PCs, the next-generation PDAs from Microsoft and its partners, offer customers the best way to connect to their most essential information while away from their desk, yet are versatile enough to satisfy the personal needs of today's busy mobile lifestyle. Pocket PCs already include a broad range of native business, personal productivity, and entertainment applications, yet can easily be expanded to adapt to each customer's changing needs through a continually growing number of industry standard hardware and software expansion options.

"As leading hardware vendors bring their next generation of mobile devices to consumers and the enterprise, we plan to support this new class of device with our Intellisync synchronization software products," said Puma Technology CEO and Co-founder Brad Rowe. "The Pocket PC greatly expands the functionality and usage of PDAs by allowing users to access the Web, among other key capabilities. Since our goal is to be the leading end-to-end infrastructure provider for mobile, wireless and Internet based devices, we are pleased to join Microsoft in its efforts to provide consumers with a device that empowers them to manage their personal and professional lives more effectively."

"We are pleased that Puma Technology is supporting us in our goal to present users of the Pocket PC with a reliable and powerful PC companion," said Rogers Weed, director of marketing for the Mobile Devices Division at Microsoft Corp. "Through its continued support of the Windows-powered mobile device platform, Puma has joined us on the path toward providing a rich synchronization experience for mobile Pocket PC users."

Intellisync synchronizes data from all Windows-powered Pocket PCs and Handheld PCs with a broad number of PC-based PIM, contact management, and groupware applications using advanced features like conflict resolution, filtering and field mapping.
