Tensor Kicks Off WAP Initiative By Extending Wireless Capabilities to Consumers Digest's Web Site

Tensor, a leading e-business solutions provider, today announced at Spring Internet World in Los Angeles plans to aggressively enter the rapidly expanding WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) marketplace by adding wireless application development to its consulting practice.

To penetrate the WAP market, Tensor has created a wireless prototype of Consumers Digest Online, the Web site of Consumers Digest magazine that provides practical advice, comprehensive evaluations and specific product recommendations. Following the same spirit of the magazine and Web site, the wireless application enables consumers to quickly research and compare products at the point of purchase via wireless devices such as handhelds and smartphones.

"Empowering shoppers to consult Consumers Digest on the sales floor is perhaps the perfect demonstration of the application Tensor has developed," said Travis TeSelle, president and chief executive officer of Tensor. "The convergence of wireless technology with Internet content allows consumers to access the most recent information available -- any place, any time."

"WAP is a strategic priority for future development of Consumers Digest," said John Manos, editor in chief of Consumers Digest. "We will continue to move our product comparisons and Best Buys content into the Web and wireless marketplaces."

Tensor is demonstrating the Consumers Digest prototype at Spring Internet World April 5-7, 2000, in exhibit booth No.4332 in Kentia Hall.

"The WAP offering promotes our strategy to provide businesses with customized Internet technology solutions," said TeSelle. "This new offering enables us to extend the reach of our customers' Web sites even further."
