Broadband Company Jato Communications Accesses Mobilize, Inc. for Wireless Mobility Solution for Sales Force

Why Would a Leading Broadband Company Need an "unwired" Mobility Solution?

At the Wireless Agenda 2000 trade show today, Mobilize, Inc. announced its selection as the mobility partner for Jato Communications.

Mobilize will provide an end-to-end solution that extends mission-critical corporate information and applications to Jato's field-based sales force in markets throughout the United States. The Mobilize solution also includes mobility-specific applications that "snap in" to the technology platform, and let mobile workers easily access and work with up-to-the-minute information.

"Recently at Jato we asked ourselves 'how can we make a fast product even faster?' The answer was a business mobility solution from Mobilize," said Keith Bennett, President of Direct Markets for Jato Communications, "Jato sales representatives visit the customer's facility which separates us from others in our industry. So, to offer the highest standard of service, we turned to Mobilize for a state-of-the-art mobility solution that delivers current information and applications to the field regardless of connection or device."

According to Mobilize CEO, Bob Pinna, "Mobilize's relationship with Jato Communications is great validation for the direction we've taken with our technology. We go beyond wireless by enabling mobile workers to actually do work with the corporate data they can access on their smartphones, PDAs, and laptops. Our relationship with Jato proves that they `get' mobility and how it can revolutionize their business."

Jato will deploy Mobilize's Mobile Access Portal(TM) (MAP) technology platform along with mobility-specific applications to its national sales force that will number of 350 mobile workers by year end. MAP provides a two-way bridge between corporate information systems that interfaces with a broad array of mobile devices and fits seamlessly with existing IS/IT infrastructure. The MAP architecture requires minimal IS/IT involvement to deploy, and can be installed in 30 to 60 days.

Bennett commented, "Other vendors provide wireless technology, but leave it up to the customer to enter into long, expensive, custom development projects. Mobilize's `out of the box' solution addresses the information needs of my mobile sales force now, ahead of the competition and when customer demand is at its peak."

The mobility applications, called mapplets(TM) that Mobilize will provide Jato include:

-- Presentation Manager that can cut sales-call preparation time in half, and let marketing management insure that the sales force delivers always current, always accurate messages.

-- Literature Distributor that catalogs all relevant sales literature, product information, and presentations in an easy to search database, and lets mobile workers e-mail, fax, or request print-on-demand literature fulfillment.

--  Online Meeting Manager that mobile professionals use along  with Presentation Manager to make live presentations over the Web to overcome geographic barriers, save time, and reduce costs. Jato Communications will also use Online Meeting Manager to conduct remote training and self-study training courses.

"Each of these capabilities greatly reduce the amount of time my sales representatives spend preparing for customer calls, and give them more time with customers," stated Bennett. "The demand for low-cost, high-speed Internet access in our market segments of small and medium businesses is hot and getting hotter. Winning share can come down to who sees the customer first, and the Mobilize solution helps Jato get there first a lot more."
