Microsoft and Odyssey Software, Inc. will provide users and developers a permanent single user license of ViaDB™, a Universal OLE DB Provider that works with new Windows-powered Pocket PCs to enable direct online access to data stored in enterprise systems with OLE DB or ODBC connectivity. ViaDB integrates with Version 3.0 of the ActiveX Data Objects for Windows CE (ADOCE) -- included with the new Pocket PC -- to allow extremely rapid deployment of robust enterprise data access applications. Using the ADOCE objects built into the Pocket PC, a ViaDB-enabled mobile application can access both remote and local data stores simultaneously.
