TANTAU Software Inc., developer of software and services that enables enterprises to conduct mobile ecommerce (m-commerce), today announced a partnership agreement with Baltimore Technologies (Nasdaq:BALT) (LSE:BLM), a global leader in e-security, to deliver a range of secure m-commerce solutions. TANTAU's Wireless Internet Platform will be secured by Baltimore Technologies' Telepathy products, which are based on the company's award winning Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) technology. The Baltimore Telepathy WAP Certificate Authority (CA) system provides a framework for businesses to offer wireless ecommerce transactions securely over mobile devices.
"The appearance of certificate authorities for digital authentication was one of the key factors in the explosion of financial transactions on the Internet. Experts predict phenomenal growth in all ecommerce transactions other the next three years, with 40 percent of all ecommerce transactions expected to occur using mobile devices. This increase in volume will define new standards for m-commerce applications around critical requirements such as security, reliability, availability and scalability. TANTAU has the first platform to address these requirements and to allow a link from a variety of wireless devices to an enterprises' back-end IT applications and data sources, seamlessly integrating the wireless and wired ecommerce infrastructure.
