MapBlast! Chosen to Provide Maps, Driving Directions to OmniSky Mobile Users

MapBlast!(R) (, the award-winning Web site from Vicinity Corp. (Nasdaq:VCNT), Wednesday announced an agreement with OmniSky Corp. to give wireless users fast access to interactive maps and driving directions while on the road.

OmniSky, the provider of a complete, easy-to-use wireless Internet service for handheld devices such as the Palm V, will also feature MapBlast! in their national marketing campaign.

This announcement closely follows the unveiling of the new MapBlast! site design, which makes getting online maps and driving direction easier than ever before.

"This is clearly the killer app for wireless users," said David Cherner, vice president and general manager of MapBlast! "We have always tried to make MapBlast! the best travel resource for people on the road and now we can provide our maps and driving directions to anyone, whenever and wherever they are needed."

The OmniSky service provides mobile users with the entirety of the Web from one unified user interface, access to existing e-mail accounts, an elegant modem solution for Palm V users, and cost-effective flat-rate pricing. MapBlast! will be featured as the preferred provider of maps and driving directions, and will come pre-loaded on the OmniSky CD-ROM.

"Quality content is what differentiates OmniSky from other wireless providers, and MapBlast! is the type of well-known, destination site we were looking for," said Barak Berkowitz, president of OmniSky. "Our users want the type of fast access to location information that MapBlast! is well suited to provide."

The OmniSky service is currently available to Palm V and Vx users, with future versions slated for other Palm organizers, Windows CE devices, pagers and WAP-enabled telephones. For more information, visit
