AOL Moviefone Expands Relationship With Palm to Provide National Wireless Access to Movie Information and Tickets

Enhanced Application Brings Consumers More Convenient Access to Movie Information and Tickets Through Wireless Devices

AOL Moviefone, the leading movie listing guide and ticketing service, today announced that it has expanded its agreement with Palm, Inc. to deliver enhanced movie information and tickets to millions of wireless consumers. As part of America Online's "AOL Anywhere" strategy, AOL Moviefone's movie information and ticketing services will be automatically available on future Palm(TM) handhelds using the Palm.Net(TM) Wireless Communication Service.

AOL Moviefone's wireless movie information service, which has been popular with Palm VII handheld users for more than a year, will provide a number of compelling new features. Moviegoers can now:

- Get one-tap access to the AOL Moviefone service from the application screen of their Palm handheld computer, - Purchase movie tickets in advance directly from their Palm device,

- Search by both movie genre and theater using expanded navigation,

- Read movie synopses, and

- Get directions to theaters from AOL Moviefone partner, Mapquest.

"We are committed to providing movie information and tickets to consumers anywhere, anytime, and on any platform, with the ease that they have become accustomed to with AOL Moviefone and Moviefone.com," said Andrew Jarecki, Chief Executive Officer of AOL Moviefone. "Our relationship with Palm reinforces the 'AOL Anywhere' strategy by making AOL Moviefone's convenient information and commerce services available to on-the-go movie fans through Palm handheld computers. Whether a moviegoer is using their home phone, PC, Palm handheld, or another wireless device, we make planning a trip to the movies and buying a ticket quick and easy."

"Consumers are becoming more mobile today than ever before, and they are wanting instant access to all kinds of information, including movie showtimes and tickets," said Byron Connell, Vice President, Consumer Markets Group, Palm, Inc. "Our relationship with AOL Moviefone allows us to bring an easy-to-use and convenient application to our customers."

AOL Moviefone's newly enhanced wireless movie information service is currently available to users of wirelessly enabled Palm handheld computers. In addition, this new service, which includes the ability to purchase tickets, movie synopses, and directions to theaters, is currently available for Palm V handheld users through the OmniSky wireless Internet service. AOL Moviefone's movie showtimes and theater locations are also available as part of the "AOL Mobile" services now available on the Sprint PCS Wireless Web using any of the 15 models of Internet-ready Sprint PCS phones.
