Silicon Wave, Inc. and AU-System announced today an agreement to integrate and test products for Bluetooth(TM) wireless technology which provides links between mobile computers, mobile phones and other portable and handheld devices. Silicon Wave and AU-System will offer customers their respective hardware and software solutions needed to support Bluetooth radio connectivity.
"Customers are looking for end-to-end solutions with guaranteed interoperability and functionality," said Christer Bjork, Vice President for AU-System. "By the agreement with Silicon Wave, we want to promote the openness that is characteristic for the whole Bluetooth initiative".
AU-System offers Bluetooth protocol and applications software for above the Host Controller Interface (HCI). Silicon Wave currently offers its Odyssey(TM) SiW015(TM) Radio Modem and SiW016(TM) Link Controller ICs designed exclusively for the low-power, small size requirements of the Bluetooth specification. Under the terms of the agreement, Silicon Wave will provide these components as well as development tools to AU-System for integration and interoperability testing. AU-System is an official distributor of the Bluetooth Host Stack from Ericsson.
