GotSavings today announced the release of its SkyCentives mobile access software for wireless Palm (PALM) devices, which allows consumers to browse the comprehensive GotSavings database of manufacturer rebates and promotions while shopping in the brick-and-mortar world.
Manufacturers can now target their promotions more effectively by reaching shoppers while they are in stores comparing prices, features, and brands -- before a buying decision is made.
"Consumers continue to extend their access to information through mobile communications devices like the Palm," said Ray Kaupp, president of GotSavings. "SkyCentives lets smart marketers take advantage of this trend by providing details of their promotions and rebates via wireless channels."
Wireless Palm users can now make more intelligent buying decisions with SkyCentives. From their Palm VII or OmniSky-equipped Palm V, shoppers are able to search the GotSavings database of special offers and rebates from over 80 leading brands. Product categories covered include computer hardware and software, appliances, consumer electronics, automobiles, and others.
Consumers can download the free SkyCentives application directly from the "Shopping" category of the Web Clipping Applications area at www.palm.net. Once saved to the user's hard drive, the application is installed using the Palm Desktop Install Tool. The SkyCentives application can also be downloaded from www.tucows.com or directly from the GotSavings Web site at www.gotsavings.com.
