MobileLogic Acquires Katahdin Consulting to Expand Complete, Wireless Professional Services Offering

MobileLogic Combines Enterprise Consulting and Wireless Expertise to Help Corporations Profit From Wireless Data Technology

In a move to expand their professional services staff, MobileLogic(R), a provider of complete mobile business solutions, today announced the acquisition of Katahdin Consulting, a New York-based strategic technology services provider. This move combines Katahdin's experience in developing mission-critical business solutions for corporations and MobileLogic's knowledge of the wireless industry into the leading professional services practice whose goal is to help corporations leverage wireless technology to generate more value from existing business processes.

"Our corporate customers are looking for someone with knowledge of how the enterprise works to come in and show them how to use wireless technology more productively to improve the way their business operates," said Ron Spears, president and CEO of MobileLogic. "With our acquisition of Katahdin Consulting and their flexible, yet systematic, approach to developing business solutions, we now have a full array of tools and resources to help businesses create the complete mobile business operation."

Katahdin's consulting expertise complements MobileLogic's ability to supply customers with complete mobile business solutions composed of network service, a secure connection, end-user devices and applications. Using Katahdin's quality management program, these solutions are fully supported and constantly evaluated to reflect customers' changing needs and the constant advances in wireless technology.

With the addition of Katahdin's consultants to the existing MobileLogic Professional Services staff, MobileLogic now boasts the industry's largest wireless professional services practice. Headed by Jeffrey Kovel, former president of Katahdin Consulting, MobileLogic Professional Services helps corporations use wireless technology to extend their Internet strategies to encompass the mobile Internet and to make mobile employees more productive. In addition, MobileLogic will help companies drive adoption of these new wireless solutions to internal or external end-users.

"In the past, Katahdin has successfully implemented change-driven solutions to bridge the gaps in business-critical processes, enabling our customers to extract new value from their aging enterprise IT infrastructures," said Jeffrey Kovel, president of MobileLogic's consulting division. "With our focus on the wireless data space, we now offer our clients the ability to take advantage of cutting-edge technology to improve the productivity of their business operation, while continuing our strong commitment to long-term relationships with our clients."

This is the second acquisition made by MobileLogic to extend the reach and expertise of their professional services group. In early May, MobileLogic acquired Buzz Wireless, an interactive agency committed to helping convert traditional Web content into WAP-enabled sites.
