MobileSys Launches Global Network Enabling Wireless Data in the Enterprise

Solution Provides Point-to-Point Message Tracking and Guaranteed Delivery; Accelerates Adoption of Wireless Data and Messaging in the Fortune 1000

MobileSys, Inc., a leader in global wireless solutions for the enterprise, today announced the formation of the MobileSys Network. Designed to work in conjunction with its MobileSys MX two-way wireless messaging engine, the MobileSys Network provides the enterprise customer with an outsourced solution enabling reliable, measurable and scalable global data messaging between enterprise applications -- such as email, network management, customer call center and sales force automation -- and a variety of data-enabled wireless devices including digital cellular phones, one- and two-way pagers and personal digital assistants (PDAs).

With the launch of its network, MobileSys is uniquely positioned to support enterprise organizations with a worldwide wireless data solution that eliminates the risk, accelerates the deployment, and simplifies maintenance issues associated with creating and managing a global wireless data and messaging solution internally.

The MobileSys Network will be formally unveiled during an industry event at the San Jose Museum of Art tonight from 6 to 9 pm. For more information on the MobileSys Network or the event, please visit http://www.mobilesys.com.

Wireless Challenges in the Enterprise

"A serious gap exists between the enterprise and its ability to cost effectively build out and maintain a secure, guaranteed wireless messaging system," said Bob Egan, Gartner Group vice president and research director, Computer Systems and Networking. "As wireless data takes on a more powerful role in the industry, the enterprise is in need of a solution that eliminates all the device, protocol and carrier chaos and offers proven reliability, message delivery and security."

According to analyst firm International Data Corporation (IDC), the number of users with inbound and outbound information services and Internet messaging will grow by more than 720 percent between 1999 and 2003. In the US alone, this equals a growth in total number of users from approximately 7.4 million to 61.5 million users by 2003.

The MobileSys Network

The MobileSys network utilizes the company's fourth generation two-way messaging engine, MobileSys MX, over a global data network with in-country, local points of presence providing a direct data connection to the network of the wireless carrier. The MobileSys Network leverages relationships with wireless carriers across the globe to provide a reliable connection from the enterprise customer's network over virtually any wireless protocol to any data-enabled device. The MobileSys Network is built with a fault tolerant architecture providing additional layers of security, point-to-point message tracking, guaranteed message delivery and measurable, low latency.

Features and Benefits

-- Highly Scalable. Built on carrier-class specifications, the MobileSys Network can manage billions of messages daily and can be quickly expanded to handle rapid growth.

-- Global Footprint. With connections to 90% of the wireless data carriers worldwide, the MobileSys Network enables users to send messages anywhere in the world without incurring international dial-up costs or experiencing long delays.

-- Secure Network. The network utilizes rigorous encryption and authentication standards ensuring privacy as messages travel via a secure path from the enterprise firewall, over MobileSys' virtual private network and into the carrier's networks.

-- Quality of Service. The MobileSys Network offers predictable latency, guaranteed message delivery and point-to-point message tracking, giving the enterprise customer access to network metrics for measuring carrier performance and quality of service.

-- Future Proof. The MobileSys Network supports a broad range of carriers, applications and devices, providing customers the flexibility to expand their applications and devices or modify their wireless carriers quickly and easily.

"This solution is the culmination of several years of customer feedback during the development and integration of our wireless data solutions," said David Coelho, MobileSys president and CEO. "Our MobileSys Network solution is enabling the rapid, global adoption of wireless data while eliminating the costs and time associated with deploying wireless messaging to the enterprise. MobileSys is the wireless data provider of choice for the enterprise."
