MSNBC.com and i3 Mobile to Deliver News to Wireless Users

MSNBC.com, the number one Internet news site, has signed a distribution agreement with i3 Mobile (Nasdaq: IIIM) to deliver news services to wireless devices.

Under the agreement, MSNBC.com, a joint venture of Microsoft and NBC News, is making news and sports headlines available to users of cellular phones, pagers, PDAs and other wireless devices through i3 Mobile's distribution network of wireless network operators, which make up over 50% over the North American digital wireless marketplace.

"i3 Mobile is a leading provider of wireless media solutions in an industry that's changing daily," said John Nicol, general manager of MSNBC.com. "As the only news organization already operating across broadcast, cable and the Internet, we are pleased to team with i3 Mobile to further develop our reach within the wireless arena."

"MSNBC.com is a recognized leader in delivering up-to-the-minute news to millions of people when they need it," said Stephen G. Maloney, president and CEO of i3 Mobile. "Through this agreement, MSNBC.com will not only be able to provide valuable content in a timely fashion, but deliver it virtually anywhere people want it."
