Real-Time Remote Data Access for Palm OS Now Possible Using Odyssey Software and Pumatech Application Development Tools

For the first time--application developers using Odyssey Software's APIfusion and Satellite Forms(TM) software from PUMATECH, Inc. (NASD: PUMA)-- can seamlessly enable users of the Palm Computing (R) platform to interactively access information in real-time over any wireless LAN or WAN, wired, or dial-up connection. Previously, Palm OS device users had to depend on periodic synchronization to access information on their devices, which meant that they often had to rely on inaccurate or incomplete information to base their business decisions.

APIfusion is a set of tools and infrastructure that enable the development of custom mobile enterprise applications. Satellite Forms is a visual rapid application development tool that eliminates the need for programmers knowledgeable in C and C++.

"Odyssey Software's tools and infrastructure are clearly a strong value-add for Palm OS developers," said Andre Sant'Anna, CTO of PUMATECH. "The combination of our new Internet extension and Odyssey Software's extension of the core Windows DNA technologies offers exciting development options that were just not available until now."

"This synergy between Odyssey and PUMATECH means that companies reliant on the Symbol 1740 and other handheld devices that use the Palm OS will be able to quickly and seamlessly develop applications that allow them to access enterprise data stores in real-time," said Mark Gentile, president and CEO of Odyssey Software. "Developers can deploy quickly and easily, and leverage our years of experience in mobile data access applications and architectures."
