WIDCOMM's BlueShare Enables Bluetooth Connectivity for PCs

BlueShare Reference Design Wins ``Best of Show'' Award at Computex 2000

WIDCOMM Inc., a world leader in short-range wireless communications and Bluetooth(TM) networking, Wednesday announced the availability of its wireless adapter reference design based on Bluetooth wireless technology.

WIDCOMM's BlueShare adapter will incorporate Bluetooth capability into PCs via USB or serial port, making the widespread integration of this affordable, easy-to-use, and secure wireless technology a reality.

The next generation of cellular phones, PDAs, and mobile PCs will all rely on the fast and convenient type of wireless connectivity provided by Bluetooth.

The BlueShare design won "Best of Show" at Computex 2000. WIDCOMM will be demonstrating the BlueShare reference design at the Bluetooth Congress in Monte Carlo, June 13-16 at booth No. 63.

"WIDCOMM's BlueShare reference design lets OEMs and designers use their current design platforms and seamlessly integrate Bluetooth connectivity into their products," said Hiep Pham, WIDCOMM president and CEO. "WIDCOMM is helping developers capitalize on Bluetooth technology."

WIDCOMM's BlueShare PC adapter allows users to access the Internet through a Bluetooth access point connected to another network (Ethernet, ISDN, or PSTN); use a PC Windows-based contact database to remote-dial a phone; and play interactive games with other Windows-based Bluetooth devices.
