AvantGo Extends Microsoft's Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence Solutions to Mobile Devices

AvantGo, Inc., a mobile Internet company, today announced that AvantGo Enterprise(TM) will be demonstrated during Microsoft's Fusion conference, July 15-17, by Microsoft Corporation's SQL Server group as part of its mobile data warehousing solution. AvantGo Enterprise solutions enable organizations to extend interactive enterprise applications and data beyond the desktop to mobile workers, through either a wireless connection or through desktop synchronization.

The Microsoft demonstration, "Business Intelligence on the Road," highlights Microsoft and AvantGo products working together to deliver business intelligence reports to Windows-Powered Pocket PC devices. The solution invokes SQL Server OLAP Services cubes, runs queries and renders corporate data onto mobile devices, either live or cached for disconnected use.

"Microsoft is dedicated to delivering quality business intelligence capabilities and with AvantGo Enterprise we are able to extend those capabilities to Pocket PC devices," said Steve Murchie, Group Product Manager at Microsoft. "Organizations are looking for ways to extend their most demanding analytical applications to mobile devices and we are pleased to be working with AvantGo to meet our enterprise customers' needs."

"Our customers' businesses are moving at lightening speed and the companies that are going to remain competitive and succeed are those that can give employees -- whether they are executives or field workers -- the right information they need to excel where and when they need it," said Rob Meinhardt, vice president of enterprise marketing at AvantGo. "Microsoft's data warehousing and business intelligence solutions unlock corporate data and turn it into useful information, and AvantGo Enterprise takes that powerful data and puts it at the fingertips of the workforce."
