International Mobile Communications -- IMC -- Selects Sequoia Software's XML Portal Server for Global Wireless Portal

IMC Portal Will Link Customers Around the Globe to Corporate Content through the Internet and IMC's Wireless Network

Sequoia Software Corporation (Nasdaq: SQSW), a leading provider and innovator of XML-powered e-business software, today announced that IMC-WorldCell has selected Sequoia's next-generation XML Portal Server(TM), XPS 3.0, as an interactive e-business portal for the company's Fortune 1000 customers. IMC-WorldCell, a provider of wireless communications solutions for international, mobile professionals, is using XPS for a portal that will provide its clientele with customized applications and worldwide access to their corporate networks via the Internet and IMC's global wireless network.

"IMC's success is built on providing our customers with innovative global telecommunications solutions," said Blake Swensrud, president, IMC. "With Sequoia's XML Portal Server, IMC will rapidly deploy new information services, and at the same time, enhance our customer relationships by streamlining the way our customers order and manage our services."

IMC is a world leader in providing global connectivity to international travelers, via its flagship product, WorldCell. WorldCell provides the widest geographic global roaming coverage available. With over 20,000 clients, IMC--through its array of products and services--connects its customers to information anytime and anywhere.

Using Sequoia's XPS, IMC is deploying a portal with two key functions.

-- First, IMC will create a new service connecting global business travelers to their corporate LANs through IMC's global wireless network. XPS, which is built upon Sequoia's revolutionary new XML-based e-business platform, enables faster and easier integration with disparate applications. In addition, XPS automates the process of transforming content for display on handheld devices, a process that can be executed in real time or batch mode to best suit IMC's requirements and those of its customers.

-- Second, the XPS-powered portal will allow IMC's clientele to get value added services, customer support, manage their accounts and order products/services online. XPS provides a built in workflow engine that will allow IMC to automate many of the back-office activities involved in mobile phone procurement, set up and distribution.

"IMC was looking for a portal platform that would allow us to interact with our customers, and give them access to their corporate content anywhere, anytime on any connected device utilizing IMC's worldwide wireless network," said Jonathan Sklar, chief technology officer, IMC. "Based on our work with XPS 3.0, we believe Sequoia's XML-based architecture, bi-directional functionality, and device independence will streamline our effort to deliver an evolving range of e-business services to our Fortune 1000 customers."

"Telecommunications firms, like IMC-WorldCell, represent one of Sequoia's key markets for XPS," said Mark Wesker, president and COO, Sequoia Software. "We are very pleased to win IMC's business, and believe they have the experience and market leadership to successfully deliver wireless portal services to their customers around the globe."
