LGC Wireless Connects With Concourse Communications Group to Provide Superior Wireless Service to Travelers

Partnership Brings Wireless Solution to Airports Across the United States

LGC Wireless, a leading supplier of wireless networking solutions, and Concourse Communications Group today announced a two-year strategic alliance to build and install seamless wireless voice and data networks for major airports throughout the United States.

LGC will provide a turnkey solution to Concourse Communications, based on the LGCell(TM), and all the associated design, installation and commissioning services. Concourse will own, market, and operate the systems. The LGCell is LGC Wireless' patented wireless networking system which uniformly provides reliable and clear wireless communications for cellular or PCS users throughout any facility.

Airports are key public areas where carriers have a critical need to expand their network capacity. Also, airports and many other large indoor areas have infrastructures that make it particularly difficult to consistently transmit wireless signals. The LGCell system delivers increased wireless capacity and clear reception by taking a cellular or PCS signal from a cellular base station and sending it through terminals and corridors. This multiple carrier, neutral host solution is easily scalable to allow for additional coverage and/or capacity as needs change.

"The technological revolution in wireless is changing when and where people do business," said Richard DiGeronimo, CEO of Concourse Communications. "This is driving a phenomenal increase in cellular, PCS, and data usage which in turn has made it imperative for all carriers to maximize their network capacity. Because the users in airports subscribe to a variety of wireless operators' services, it's critical to have a solution that can economically provide service to all of them. Concourse has found the LGCell to be the best-in-class solution for those multi-carrier environments."

"Every day, many mobile professionals travel through airports in North America equipped with wireless phones and a need to stay in touch with customers and colleagues," said David Cutrer, chief technology officer and co-founder of LGC Wireless. "This creates demand for advanced wireless services in airports. We are very excited about our partnership with Concourse Communications and their vision to become the nation's leader in providing state-of-the-art wireless access services to airports."
