Mercator(R) Software, Inc., (NASDAQ: MCTR) the e-business transformation company(tm), and AvantGo(tm), a mobile Internet company, today announced an agreement through which the companies will deliver complementary solutions that extend Web and server-based e-business applications to mobile devices. The integration of Mercator's E-Business Broker Suite with AvantGoEnterprise(tm) is designed to enable end users to access corporate data, applications and transaction services, regardless of the information's format, from handheld devices and Internet-enabled phones. With Mercator technology and AvantGo Enterprise, organizations can quickly and easily mobilize their existing enterprise applications, such as SAP(tm) and PeopleSoft(tm), as well as legacy applications.

Using AvantGo Enterprise, Global 1000 companies are wirelessly extending Internet, intranet and extranet applications beyond the enterprise and to mobile devices. When combined with Mercator's E-Business Broker products, organizations can improve customer relationship management, sales force automation and inventory management by allowing end users to access information residing in the corporate intranet or company databases over the Internet from a wide variety of portable devices. With Mercator's standards-based approach to integration, any data type including XML, EDI and HTML-based data, can be transformed into formats that are displayed on Internet-enabled phones and handheld devices.
