Sage Software Unveils New Wireless Applications for MAS 90 and MAS 200

Company Introduces Powerful New Module for Sage MAS 90 and MAS 200 That Delivers Improved Timekeeping At the Office, Remotely Via the Palm, and Eventually Via the Internet

Sage Software, a leading provider of mid-range business management software, Monday announced the introduction of Timekeeper, a powerful new tool for capturing and recording time in the company’s popular Sage MAS 90 and MAS 200 product line.

Scheduled for release this month, the new module was previewed at Visions, the company’s annual reseller conference held in Palm Springs, Calif., May 22-24.

The new Timekeeper module will be available with stand-alone, remote and Internet-based components. These components will allow users to enter time via their PC, their Palm OS handheld, and over the Internet, using either the wireless capability of the Palm VII or from within a Web browser.

“Timekeeper is the latest addition to the MAS 90 and MAS 200 family of products, designed to provide support for dynamic time entry in a variety of settings,‿ said David R. Butler, president and chief operating officer for Sage Software Inc. “As companies continue to embrace the power of the Internet, Sage intends to fully maximize its potential as it relates to business operations.‿

Timekeeper is the system module that allows entries to be uploaded to a variety of MAS 90 and MAS 200 modules including Accounts Receivable, Job Cost, Payroll, Sales Order, and Time and Billing. It includes Timekeeper Local which can be run stand-alone on client workstations on a LAN and keeps account of client time, payroll time and project time.

Timekeeper Remote enables Palm OS handheld users to enter time on their PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) and upload to MAS 90 or MAS 200 using the HotSync function and the docking cradle. Timekeeper Remote also includes full Timeslips integration, in addition to the convenience of remote time entry.

Available later this year, Timekeeper will provide Palm VII users with wireless time entry and will also provide a Web applet with the same functionality as Timekeeper Local for time entry via a Web browser. The intuitive interface and convenience of remote time entry are the key benefits of this version of Timekeeper.

The availability of wireless entry anticipates the eventual move toward wireless support for the product line. Wireless order inquiries and sales order entry are just two of the enhancements planned for the future.

“The wireless support in Timekeeper is just a taste of the possibilities of wireless for MAS 90 and MAS 200,‿ said Butler. “We received an extremely positive response to our first wireless offering at Visions, and look forward to unveiling more wireless products in the future.
