STET HELLAS FIRST TO INTRODUCE HIGH SPEED ΜΟBILE INTERNET IN GREECE

STET Hellas Telecommunications SA (Nasdaq: STHLY) today became the first Greek operator to introduce the High-Speed Circuit Switched Data (HSCSD) feature to its GSM mobile network.  The enhancement enables high-speed access to the Internet and data networks from a mobile environment. HSCSD marks the first step towards GPRS and multimedia services.

STET Hellas customers can now enjoy data access speeds up to 38.4 Kbps, four times faster than the current 9.6 Kbps.  HSCSD will greatly facilitate the use of Internet and data applications such as e-mail, web surfing, and mobile videoconferencing in a user-friendly way.

STET Hellas customers can also take advantage of higher speeds in accessing corporate LANs and Intranets.  The company will offer the new feature to customers in the largest cities at no extra charge for an initial trial period until the end of September.

HSCSD is a premium technology that addresses the needs of the corporate and SME segments.  Once again, STET Hellas reinforces its commitment to offering a complete range of telecommunications services and options.
