Audio Intelligence Corporation today announced the introduction of Audio Update(TM), a new breakthrough service that allows users to download custom pre-recorded audio information to their handheld PDA's through a secure connection to the internet or their own company's intranet. Now, handheld users can get their corporate information in audio as well as text format. Audio Update(TM) is the first business solution that extends beyond the desktop to reach handheld devices such as Handspring Visors(R) in a digital MP3 format, utilizing the Springboard module MiniJam(TM) by InnoGear. Audio Update offers such advantages as ease of distribution, sound quality, the ability for frequent updates, cost effectiveness, ease of use, and security.
"By delivering information in a new way, we hope to give corporate America a new alternative for training and communicating with their employees," said Scott Banda, Audio Intelligence's President. "This is an ideal service for sales professionals and busy executives who travel extensively, because the audio format means they can easily listen to information while traveling in their cars, in an airplane or any other place they find themselves with time."
The Audio Update(TM) service capitalizes on a recent trend in corporate training: distance learning. Fortune 500 companies have become increasingly reluctant to pull their sales force and other professionals away from their daily responsibilities to bring them into centralized training programs. With Audio Update(TM) corporations will now have the ability to train, update, and inform their personnel quickly, and efficiently -- wherever they are.
The Palm O/S will be the initial platform for the Audio Update(TM) service, for use with Handspring Visors. Later this year, Audio Intelligence will expand its service to be compatible with Palm Pilots and the Microsoft Pocket PC line of products.
