AvantGo, Inc., a mobile Internet company, today announced its software is bundled with the new Sony Electronics' CLIE Handheld device. AvantGo's software, which extends Web-based content and applications to mobile devices, provides Sony CLIE Handheld users with access to the Web and more than 400 channels of optimized content and applications via the AvantGo mobile Internet service.
The AvantGo mobile Internet service provides free interactive and personalized content and applications to individuals with handheld computers and Internet-enabled phones. Using a wireless, real-time connection or via desktop synchronization, AvantGo users with a new Sony CLIE Handheld can personalize their experience, customizing channels for news and travel information, stock portfolios, movie listings, restaurant reviews, maps and much more from brand-name providers and e-businesses. Sony channels on AvantGo include Sony Music, Sony Online Entertainment and Sony Pictures. The free AvantGo mobile Internet service is available at www.avantgo.com.
