Agreement Marks First Deployment Of InfoMove's Services On In-Dash Systems

InfoMove, the leading provider of personalized, location-based applications and wireless services tailored for use in the automobile, and Yazaki North America, Inc., a leading provider of vehicle power and data solutions to the automotive industry, today announced an agreement to demonstrate InfoMove's applications for in-dash systems at the automotive electronic conference Convergence 2000 in October and at future venues.

At Convergence 2000, Yazaki will use its MOST optical network architecture to connect Microsoft Windows CE for Automotive platform with in-vehicle computing systems for multimedia applications.

"There are many in-dash navigation systems on the market today, but InfoMove is the first to develop a dynamic system that is personalized for drivers based on their own preferences and location at a specific point in time," said Peter Holland, president and CEO of InfoMove. "We have teamed with Yazaki because the quality of their hardware and optical network systems compliments our applications and services."

InfoMove's wireless-based services deliver personalized real-time, location-specific Internet content into the car through palm-sized, handheld PC devices, Internet-enabled cell phones and in-dash systems. By integrating Global Positioning System (GPS) data, InfoMove pinpoints a driver's location, speed and direction as well as their current route to their final destination.

"As Yazaki continually researches and develops advanced electronic technologies for vehicles, we are pleased to be working with InfoMove," said Myron Trenne, vice-president of Advanced Technology for Yazaki North America. "This agreement with InfoMove enhances our vehicle systems solution by providing a superior telematics application running on our MOST optical multimedia network."

InfoMove has developed strategic relationships with industry-leading organizations to create this unique platform that integrates GPS, wireless and Internet technologies. InfoMove will offer its service to Internet portals, hardware manufacturers, automotive companies and other organizations as private-label and co-branded solutions.

Convergence 2000 will be held Oct. 16-18, at the Cobo Center in Detroit, Mich.
