Network Commerce Inc. (Nasdaq:NWKC), a leading provider of technology infrastructure, services and networks for businesses, merchants, Internet sites and wireless networks, today announced an agreement with OmniSky Corporation (http://www.omnisky.com), the provider of a complete wireless Internet service for handheld devices including the Palm V series. Under the agreement, Network Commerce will provide e-commerce services, including comparison shopping, on OmniSky's network.
The OmniSky service provides mobile individuals with access to existing email accounts, an elegant modem solution for the Palm V and Vx, cost-effective, flat-rate pricing, and the entirety of the Web from one unified user interface. OmniSky subscribers will be able to access merchants and businesses on the Network Commerce Consumer Network for commerce services, and soon content, using handheld devices.
"We believe our alliance with OmniSky will give businesses on our commerce networks an additional way to provide a value-added service for their customers using the Palm V and Vx," said Dwayne Walker, chairman and chief executive officer of Network Commerce.
