`Pocket Vineyard' Wine Education Tool Now Available for Palm Handheld Organizers

NeoHand, Amy Reiley Team Up To Provide Wine Information and Organization via Palm Organizers

Noted wine writer Amy Reiley has teamed up with leading handheld software developer NeoHand, Inc. to create an electronic guide and database for wine lovers for PalmOS(R) handhelds.

Amy Reiley's Pocket Vineyard(TM) by NeoHand provides users an interactive vintage chart, a glossary of 400+ wine terms, a food pairing companion, and a database to store the user's personal tasting notes.

The interactive Vintage Chart allows the user to specify the country, region, type and year of the wine and find out whether the wine is worth drinking. The Vintage Chart covers the United States, Australia, Austria, Chile, France, Germany, Italy, New Zealand, Portugal, South Africa and Spain, with several regions covered in many cases, including Tuscany, Bordeaux, Western Australia and more.

The Food Pairing companion consists of a database of dishes and suggests several wines to complement the meal being served. In addition to standard fare, such as poultry and meats, the Food Pairing component also recommends wines to go along with various desserts, fast food options, cheeses and more. My Tasting Notes is an easy-to-use database for the user's wine preferences and allows beaming of notes to other PalmOS(R) handhelds running Amy Reiley's Pocket Vineyard(TM).

Amy Reiley's Pocket Vineyard(TM) is priced at $19.95 and is downloadable from a standard PC with an Internet connection from the NeoHand website at http://www.neohand.com and through Handango.com, the leading Internet site for handheld computing solutions. The entire process -- from connecting to a site to walking out the door with the program loaded into a handheld PC -- takes less than five minutes and uses 170KB of space.

"Wine novices and experts alike will find much to love about this product," says David Horwich, president and CEO of NeoHand, Inc. "NeoHand has proven itself a leader in developing high quality personal and business productivity tools for this platform and we're excited about expanding this line even further with this product."

As one of the youngest wine educators in America, Amy Reiley strives to make wine simple. In addition to contributing her down-to-earth voice to numerous websites and wine publications, Ms. Reiley's current endeavors include lecture/demonstrations across the country, serving as the Wine Editor for Gayot Publications' Novusvinum.com website and as the Education Chair for the Los Angeles County Wine Brats.

"Palm devices represent an incredible opportunity to assist wine lovers in exploring all that wine has to offer," says Amy Reiley. "Imagine having wine information and a powerful tasting notes database a few taps away."

Amy Reiley's Pocket Vineyard(TM) is compatible with all PalmOS(R) organizer products running PalmOS 3.0 or higher, including the Palm III(TM), Palm V(TM) and Palm VII(TM) families of organizers, the Handspring Visor series, and the TRGpro handheld computer.

"Amy Reiley's Pocket Vineyard(TM) represents another step in making handheld organizers truly personal devices," said Randy Eisenman, President of Handango. "We are pleased to expand our relationship with NeoHand and to be able to provide exclusive offerings to Handango's customers." Handango maintains the world's largest Internet marketplace for handheld computing solutions.
