SourceGear releases free portal toolkit for wireless handhelds

SourceGear Corporation has released version 0.3.0 of its Open Source software toolkit for creating community portals, codenamed "lloop"

The latest release of the project includes, among other features, more extensive support for WML, the markup language used by WAP phones and other wireless devices. "lloop" consists of a server platform and a collection of ready-for-use ASP-like scripts that produce dynamic content for display on a variety of devices, such as desktop PC's, WAP Phones, and the Palm VII handheld. The entire project is based upon Open Source technology and is licensed under the GNU Public License. Organizations in need of an information portal with wireless access can download lloop free of charge and quickly install the framework to launch their own portal. In addition, lloop can be easily customized for each organization's own look and feel. The portal supports many popular relational database engines, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, and InterBase and works in conjunction with the Apache web server. For more information, visit the lloop website at http://www.lloop.com. The latest release of lloop can be downloaded at: http://www.lloop.com/html/downloadsIndex.pyp
