VastVideo, the leading business-to-business provider of Video Applications, Services and Technology, today announced that they are teaming with ActiveSky to deliver video downloads to personal digital assistants.
VastVideo will encode video to support ActiveSky's media player technology, enabling owners of devices using the Windows CE, Pocket PC, or Palm platforms to view any clip from VastVideo's comprehensive informational video library and make use of that information where it is most needed.
"Informational video might just be the `killer app' for handheld computing devices," said Nathan Leight, CEO of VastVideo. People use PDAs to gather and store information, not to entertain themselves. VastVideo edits videos into clips that deliver a complete message in less than three minutes. The clips provide information to Internet users aligned with the subject matter of the sites they visit. The video files are indexed to makes clips searchable by content and to enable precisely targeted advertising and e-commerce opportunities via VastVideo's proprietary Contextual Assignment System (CASTM) software.

ActiveSky makes its Media Player technology available as free downloads from its Web site.
